VLC comes with nearly every codec built in. And whats more, VLC can play back your files, even if the media is damaged! Missing or broken pieces won't stop VLC. All the video and audio information that remains can be played.

How do I install the VideoLAN VLC Media Player?

VLC is packaged at the RPM Fusion Site. First we need to add this repository to NST.

Install The RPM Fusion Repository Into NST

 dnf install https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm

Install VLC From RPM Fusion Repository

Once the repository is added, we next add VLC. It is that simple!

dnf install vlc

Install Optional VLC Python Modules

dnf install python-vlc npapi-vlc (optionals)

Install Optional Firefox Media Player Plugin

dnf install compat-ffmpeg28
Note: The VLC Media Player can Not run as the 'root' user.
